Production Farm sows seeds for success among area’s foster teens by Nick Lauer nlauer@thebusinessnewsonline.com In the state of Wisconsin there are approximately 77,000 farms. However, there is only one farm that sows seeds and harvests the product of those seeds all year long regardless of season. That would be The Production Farm in the village of Whitelaw in Manitowoc County. While the focus of most farms is on the cultivation of food products, the main emphasis of The Production Farm is the cultivation of minds and the development of youth living in foster homes. The Production Farm teaches foster teens all aspects of the filmmaking process, from pre-production through post-production in addition to the daily tasks required to keep a traditional farm operating.
