ACCESS Camps
12 Week Intensive Class (Pilot Program Begins Summer 2021)
Access Camps is a local artist collaborative project that invites local artists and art/agricultural based organizations in our community to teach a class in a 12 week camp, whose objective is to give youth access to different interests and vocations within our communities and beyond; each program utilizes play through experiential and project based objectives. Our 12 Week Course is specifically designed to increase our community bonding initiative, by providing tools and professional teachers to teach students competencies through art and exploration. The students will also have opportunities to meet guest teachers who specialize in aspects of each art/agricultural form. The program is currently operational in Sheboygan and Manitowoc Counties.

How do we incorporate Agriculture into each of our Behavioral Health and Arts programs?
Our youth Agricultural Program is specifically designed to promote play, exploration, and learning in rural Wisconsin food systems. The Production Farm Food and Agricultural Program teaches youth nutrition, the importance of agriculture, the environment, and financial management. The Production Farm partners with local farmers within Manitowoc County, Wisconsin and utilizes community food markets. Youth will have an opportunity to learn healthy eating, food education, cooking skills, and sustainable food business practices. In addition, youth will have an opportunity to learn from their environment by learning gardening techniques and other experiential education. If your organization or school group needs space for gardening or if you live locally the community is encouraged to come and participate in our community garden. Use our space to create your own food. You can share your garden techniques, grow food for your family, or use our space to teach. Each program is integrated into our behavioral health programs. The Food and AG Program will encourage health and wellness, with outdoor fitness initiatives such as: nature hikes, yoga, fishing, and sports. In addition, the program features animal rescue with household pets. The kids will learn practical skills in animal handling, dog training, animal nutrition, pet/animal-care responsibility.
